IMO founders who genuinely care about users, their problems, and the problem space have an unfair advantage.
They work harder than anyone to find a real solution vs focusing all energy on vanity.
When they feel that skill X and Y are needed. They learn it thanks to their drive.
And when the down turn comes, which is inevitable in the lifetime of any company, these founders persevere and survive.
